This set contains blades made of high carbon steel (HCS). It is a material that resists bending well and is therefore most suitable for cutting softer materials such as soft wood, soft plastics and wood fibre boards. The set also includes blades made of high-speed steel (HSS). This is a hard material that has a long life and can make fast cuts. The blade is suitable for harder materials such as metal, copper, aluminium and other non-ferrous metals. The blade attachment is bayonet-shank type, also called T-shank, designed for quick and easy blade changes. The T-shaped cross-section fits into the blade holder of the jigsaw. The shape of the shank ensures a secure attachment and reduces the risk of the blade slipping or coming loose during use.
